1848 c. CARTES PARISIENNES  Le Caméléon (102 Rue Richelieu, Paris)

Il mazzo fu editato dalla rivista di moda Le Caméléon, attiva dal 1848 al 1850, le carte furono disegnate da Ange Louis Janet Lange (1815-1872) pittore, disegnatore, litografo ed incisore, le lastre furono incise con la tecnica dell’acquaforte da Geoffroy Charles Michel (1819-1882), la stampa fu eseguita da Pierrat Imp.

Si tratta di 51/52 carte, manca il 10 di Fiori, acqueforti colorate a mano, ad una testa e semi francesi, onori senza indici, angoli quadrati, in origine forse i bordi erano dorati, dorso monocolore blu/verde.

Carte caratterizzate da una esecuzione finissima, illustrate con disegni di moda maschile e femminile dei primi dell’ottocento.

Raro mazzo storico, probabilmente primo esempio di una serie di altri mazzi, con figure di moda o storiche, prodotti successivamente in Francia da O. Gibert (1840 c. - 1860). Alcune carte con abrasioni superficiali € 600

Blue circular stamp on the ace of flowers with head of Marianna and written "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE Decision Ministerielle du 12.4.1890”. On all cards is the last type watermark imprint, letters CI crossed. On the shield of the jack of clubs is the inscription "Administ. Des Contrib. Indir. 1853”.  Almost mint. € 70

Beautiful and sophisticated deck of advertising cards designed by famous French graphic designer Cassandre (Adolphe Jean-Marie Mouron - 1901-1968) for the Parisian store Hermes. The first edition has: the head of the Jack of Diamonds showing full face while the later edition is a side view, the suit symbols complete, and on the ace of flowers the words "Hermes Paris" that appeared in the next edition. Beautiful and sophisticated deck of advertising cards designed by famous French graphic designer Cassandre (Adolphe Jean-Marie Mouron - Ukraine 1901 Paris1968) for the Parisian store Hermes. The second edition has: the head of the Jack of Diamonds showing a side view face while the first edition has a front view, cutting a left piece off the suit sign, two Jokers and on the ace of flowers there are the words "Hermes Paris". Cards with two heads, French suits, rounded corners, gold edges and on back floreal designs. Almost mint, some cards have a superficial abrasion on the top edge. € 120
